Sala dei Giuristi, Piazza Vecchia - Bergamo Alta

Project: Basaglia ROTA Nodari architetti associati

Living on this planet is like living  in your own house and can be done in a natural way.
This is the message that comes from the 35 companies at this year’s edition of the exhibition of "Wood, from Nature to Things", an event designed and created by the Fondazione Museo del Falegname Tino Sana.
Just as a bird collects wooden twigs to build its own nest, so also man has many possibilities to use noble, natural and infinitely renewable material such as wood, to build his home.

The magnificent Sala dei Giuristi in Città Alta is reinterpreted as a domestic environment.
An entire house made up of the element that has always represented nature: the tree.
The warmth and scent of wood that each exhibit emanates creates a surreal atmosphere that counterpoints the sobriety of the medieval building.

The main symbols of the event are birds and their eggs. A very large bird cage will be built in downtown Bergamo, and here we are invited to immerse ourselves in a different dimension, to sit on large wooden eggs and reflect on our relationship with nature, to feel small. A second egg-case, with another six eggs to collect, has been prepared to further spread the message of Il Legno Dalla Natura Alle Cose (Wood from Nature to Things).

Follow the flight of the birds to reach Piazza Vecchia and you will be invited to walk up the stairway leading to the Sala dei Giuristi and feel that you have reached home.
