Competition for acoustic guitarists

The Second Edition of Acoustic Val di Scalve promotes a competition for acoustic guitarists. The competition focuses on two fundamental aspects for those who play acoustic guitar: composition and arrangement. Each competitor is required to send in two instrumental pieces. The first must be of his own composition, the other a remake of a song of his choice (indicating the title and author), which highlights his ability to make an original acoustic guitar arrangement.

Send the two good quality recordings, in mp3 format, via e-mail, to, by 26 August 2019. Upon receipt, the tracks will be published in the appropriate section of the site where anyone can listen to them and indicate preferences.

Three of the competitors will be selected for the finals; one by same audience accessing the site, and two others by a specialized jury, composed of highly experienced musicians in the sector.

Further to the originality and quality of the composition and arrangement, the execution and interpretation will also be evaluated.

For participants, there is no limit such as age or formal musical training.

The interpreters of the three selected tracks will be invited to perform them on the stage of Acoustic Val di Scalve 2019, in Azzone, at 11.00 am on Saturday 7th September and the awards will be presented on the basis of the judgment of the jury.

The winner will be awarded:

  • Participation at the Acoustic Val di Scalve 2020
  • Realisation of a professional video in the studios and diffusion of the same on their YouTube channel
  • Galli strings for acoustic guitar
  • Each of the three finalists will receive a one-year subscription to the “Chitarra Acustica” monthly.

The jury is made up of Reno Brandoni, Andrea Carpi, Giorgio Cordini, Giovanni Pelosi.
